Lyrical Construct

2024 Round steel bars Sculpture: 100 cm (width) x 12 cm (depth) x 27 cm

"Lyrical Construct" is inspired by the composition, structure, and rhythm of the Sihanoukville train station building. Its sketch-like quality highlights the fluidity and conceptual nature of the work. It contrasts the rigidity of steel with the organic feel of a drawn line. The work contemplates the duality of vertical and horizontal lines, reflecting not only structural integrity but also the fluidity of movement and thought. Layer upon layer of lines forms a space in this work, which aims to study its expressive quality. This can include elements such as flowing lines, graceful proportions, and a sense of harmony that creates an emotional response in those who experience the architecture. It appears like a structural architecture, yet it also evokes a poetic quality that transcends the physical, inviting deeper reflection on the relationship between art, architecture, and our experiences. Through this work, I hope to inspire a dialogue about the inherent beauty and resonance in the structures that shape our surroundings.
